Headed to the Sports Arena area in Point Loma,
we ended up hitting up the Shakedown Bar! This place used to be "The Rhythm Lounge" back in the day.... anybody that went there knows it was an absolute empty shit hole. Not anymore, the bar is under new ownership that boasts the best selection of malt beers and the best metal/punk shows in San Diego.
Always a good sign to see a sign that states this. Luckily for us the party has yet to end.
For a mere $10 you can see a damn good thrash metal show, drinks some cold beer/drinks, shoot some pool and head-banged the night away.
Nihilist fucking killed it. There were 3 other bands that played but I didn't even care to take any pics. I was here for fucking Nihilist!

The mic kept shorting out on the lead singer. Didn't really matter to me, I was caught in a head-bangers trance.
The last song they played is my favorite by Nihilist, "Hessian Mercenary". So fucking sick.
Afterwards we lurked in the parking lot, waiting for a cab.
Drunken hamburgers when yer eardrums are blown is a nice remedy.
If you happen to see Nihilist playing a show near you, go or you might regret it.
